ZETA Headlight Lens Covers

What is a headlight lens cover and what does it do?
The lens cover is the outer part of the headlamp assembly. It protects the internal components from dust, water and dirt, and it is part of the path that light travels from the bulb or projector to the road.
What are ZETA headlight lens covers made of?
ZETA headlight lens covers are made of optical-grade polycarbonate (PC), which is crystal clear and impact-resistant for automotive use, with a UV-protective coating and an anti-fog coating.
What are the key features of ZETA headlight lens covers?
ZETA lens covers stand out for their clarity, UV-protective coating and anti-haze properties. They are available for a wide range of models and come with a 1-year warranty under the stated terms.
How are ZETA lens covers different from ordinary lens covers?
ZETA focuses on clarity, an accurate fit to the headlamp shape and surface protection with a UV coating, and offers covers for many car models. Differences in lifespan and performance compared with other brands should, however, be judged on test data under the same conditions.
Why do headlight lens covers turn yellow or cloudy?
The main cause is deterioration of the surface and its UV-protective coating after long exposure to sunlight, heat, pollution and chemicals. The cover starts to yellow, cloud over or develop fine cracks (crazing), which can reduce headlight performance.

Does a yellowed lens cover affect headlight brightness?
Yes. A yellow or cloudy cover can reduce the amount of light leaving the headlamp and scatter it differently from the original pattern, reducing night-time visibility, especially when the cover is badly deteriorated.

Do ZETA lens covers have a UV-protective coating?
Yes. ZETA lens covers have a UV-protective coating that helps slow surface deterioration from sunlight. Actual lifespan still depends on the environment, usage and care.
How do ZETA lens covers help reduce haze and cloudiness?
ZETA lens covers have a surface coating that helps reduce hazing, according to the product specifications. Note the difference between haze on the surface and condensation from moisture inside the headlamp: condensation depends on the headlamp's sealing and ventilation.

Can ZETA lens covers turn yellow after long use?
All lens covers can deteriorate over time and with use. ZETA's UV coating helps slow the effects of sunlight, but it cannot guarantee that a cover will never yellow over its entire life.
What is the difference between replacing a lens cover and polishing a headlight?
Polishing restores the surface of the existing cover and suits cases where the damage is still minor. Replacement removes the old cover and fits a new one, and suits covers that are badly deteriorated, deeply clouded, crazed or damaged beyond what polishing can fix.

ZETA LED Headlight Bulbs

What is an LED headlight bulb and how does it work?
An LED headlight bulb produces light with light-emitting diodes, converting electricity into light. LEDs are energy-efficient, respond instantly and can deliver high brightness in a compact size.
How do LED bulbs differ from halogen and xenon bulbs?
Halogen bulbs heat a filament until it glows, xenon (HID) bulbs use an electric arc inside the bulb, and LEDs use semiconductors to produce light. Each type differs in efficiency, heat, lifespan and suitability for a given headlamp.
Does switching to LED bulbs really make headlights brighter?
It can, when you choose a quality bulb that suits your original headlamp. However, the usable brightness depends on the position of the light source, the headlamp design and the beam pattern, not just the bulb's lumen rating.
What do watts, lumens and kelvin mean for LED bulbs?
Watts (W) is the electrical power used, lumens (lm) is the amount of light the bulb produces, and kelvin (K) is the colour temperature, e.g. 3000K gives a yellowish light and 6000K a white light. Consider all three together with the beam pattern when choosing a bulb.
Is 6000K white LED light good for night driving?
White light around 6000K looks bright and can make some details easier to see. In heavy rain or thick fog, a warmer light may be more comfortable or more suitable in some situations. Visibility also depends on the intensity and direction of the beam.
Is a higher-wattage LED bulb always brighter than a lower-wattage one?
No. Watts measure power consumption, not brightness. A highly efficient LED can produce more light while using less power, and the brightness on the road also depends on the headlamp system.
Can an LED bulb directly replace my original bulb?
It depends on the bulb base, the space inside the headlamp, the car's electrical system and whether the beam pattern is suitable. Some models are plug-and-play, while others need additional parts or are not suitable for LED conversion.
Can LED bulbs make the headlamp hot or damage it?
LED bulbs still generate heat, especially at the LED chips and the cooling unit. An unsuitable bulb, incorrect installation or insufficient cooling can shorten the life of the bulb and of the parts inside the headlamp.
Why does the light sometimes scatter or dazzle other drivers after fitting LED bulbs?
The LED's light source may not line up with the original headlamp design, so the beam spreads in the wrong direction, or the headlights may be installed or aimed incorrectly. Always check the beam pattern after installation.
How do I choose the right LED bulb for my car?
Check the bulb base, car model, year, headlamp type and electrical system before buying, and consider the beam quality, heat dissipation and compliance with road-use regulations.
How long is the warranty on ZETA LED headlight bulbs?
ZETA LED headlight bulbs carry a 2-year warranty (a few models differ; see the product page), with coverage according to the company's terms. Please keep your proof of purchase for any service request.

Bi-LED Projectors & Headlight Systems

What is a Bi-LED projector?
A Bi-LED projector is a headlight unit that uses an LED light source with a projector lens to control and shape the beam. It can work as both low beam and high beam in a single unit.

How is a Bi-LED projector different from an ordinary LED bulb?
An LED bulb is only a light source. A Bi-LED projector is a complete lighting system that combines the light source, reflector or light collector, lens and beam-control mechanism, allowing a properly designed beam pattern and cut-off line.
Read more: What Is a Bi-LED Projector, and How Is It Different from an LED Bulb?
How does fitting a projector improve lighting performance?
A well-designed, properly installed projector controls the direction of the beam, putting light where it is needed with a sharp cut-off line. Real-world performance depends on the projector's quality, the installation and the headlight aim.
Can a Bi-LED projector work as both low and high beam?
Yes. A Bi-LED projector designed for both functions uses a beam-control mechanism, such as a moving shutter, to switch between low and high beam.
What is the difference between a Bi-LED projector and a laser projector?
A Bi-LED projector uses LEDs as its main light source, whereas a genuine laser headlight uses laser light together with a phosphor converter and dedicated optics. "Laser" in some product names may be a marketing term only, so check the actual technology of the product.
Can a car with reflector headlights be converted to projectors?
Some models can be retrofitted with projectors, but you need to consider the space inside the headlamp, mounting, the electrical system, safety and the relevant legal requirements. Have an experienced technician assess the car before installation.

Does fitting a projector require opening the headlamp?
A retrofit projector installed inside the original headlamp usually requires opening the headlamp, but the method can differ depending on the car's construction and the type of product.
Which car models are Bi-LED projectors suitable for?
They can be used in many types of vehicles, including sedans, pickups and SUVs, as long as there is enough mounting space and a suitable electrical system. Check compatibility with each model and adjust the beam after installation.

How is a fog light projector different from an ordinary fog light?
A fog light projector uses a lens and beam-control parts to shape the light, while ordinary fog lights may use a reflector. The performance of each depends on the design, installation and beam adjustment.
What are Matrix LED headlights, and how do they differ from ordinary projectors?
Matrix LED headlights can control many LED segments independently to adapt the beam to the situation; supported systems can dim certain areas to avoid dazzling other road users. Ordinary projectors usually have a fixed beam pattern or switch between low and high beam.
If a headlight fails, does the whole headlamp need replacing?
Not always. A headlamp is made of many parts, such as the lens cover, light guides, chip modules and projector. If the faulty part can be replaced separately, repairing just that part can be a lower-cost option.
How can I tell whether a ZETA part fits my car?
Tell us the make, model, year, trim and headlight type of your car, and send a photo of the headlamp or the original part number if you have it, so our staff can confirm the fit before you order.
